The San Antonio Spurs need to make sure to do everything well around Victor Wembanyama.

He has the potential to be one of the greatest — or even the greatest — players in basketball history, so they cannot take any risks.

Plenty of factors could have a big impact on a player’s career in the league, from his personality to luck.

That’s why some people are worried about how he’ll be able to make the adjustment from the European lifestyle and hoops to the U.S., but that’s not the case with coach Gregg Popovich.

During his recent press conference at the Spurs’ Media Day, he called Victor Wembanyama a very intelligent young man, stating that he’s not worried at all about his ability to blend in and earn the respect of his teammates.

Popovich is confident that Wembanyama will learn how they do things in the organization and the community, so he believes he’s going to be a natural fit (via Yahoo Sports).

Wembanyama has the most unique skill set this game has ever seen.

He can put the ball on the floor like a guard and pull up from beyond the arc, all while also being able to swat shots into the stands.

He’s a unique prospect that could literally change the way the game is played and how scouts evaluate talent from now on.

Even so, the Spurs will likely spoon-feed him through the first season of his career, and we shouldn’t expect him to make any major impact or play heavy minutes right out of the gate.
