Besides being arguably the greatest coach in NBA history, Gregg Popovich is also known for being a class act.
Only Kawhi Leonard and Dennis Rodman have ever spoken ill of coach Popovich, at least on the record.
You can tell his players love and embrace him, even if he’s not there to sugarcoat things or just pat them on the back.
That was on full display during their Summer League game in Vegas.
As shown by the NBA on Twitter, Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes were having a blast with their new coach, watching their young teammates ball out.

Paul reportedly chose the Spurs because they would give him an opportunity to play starter minutes again, even knowing that he wouldn’t be playing for an NBA championship in the foreseeable future — if at all again.
As for Barnes, he was a part of the DeMar DeRozan trade, and both should be quite helpful in mentoring and developing the Spurs’ young core.
The Spurs closed out the year with some promising performances, and it didn’t take long before Victor Wembanyama proved to be a generational talent.
Paul also appreciated having the opportunity to play with Wembanyama and it was a big factor in his decision to join the team, and he’s likely just the first of many future Hall of Famers that will go out of their way to play with Wembanyama.
