The 2023-24 NBA season was a lost one for the Memphis Grizzlies as they suffered heavy injuries across the roster that robbed them of any chance of competing in the Western Conference.

The Grizzlies saw Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane go down with injuries, but nothing was more devastating than losing Ja Morant who suffered a season-ending shoulder injury that required surgery.

Morant’s regular season debut was delayed as he served a 25-game suspension after his involvement in multiple firearm incidents.

The star point guard has taken the necessary steps to rectify his behavior and is expected to be fully healthy for the 2024-25 NBA season.

During the offseason, Memphis head coach Taylor Jenkins has been hard at work trying to figure out ways to bring his team back to the playoffs.

However, he did provide a positive injury update regarding Morant via SiriusXM NBA Radio.

“He just got cleared just the other day for full-contact workout,” Jenkins said. “He’s ready to hit that full steam.”

Ja Morant was cleared for contact on Wednesday.

The expectation was that Morant would be fully healthy ahead of next season and it sounds like that he’s right on track to make good on that timeline.

At his best, Morant is one of the best players in the league because he is blazing fast and can score in a hurry.

He’s also a gifted passer who can set up teammates for wide-open looks, especially in transition.

With a fully available Morant back in the fold, the Grizzlies should be able to sneak back into the playoff race assuming nothing else goes wrong.
