There were some scary moments at Kauffman Stadium, in Kansas City, on Tuesday night.

Cleveland Guardians insider Mandy Bell reported that manager Terry Francona wasn’t feeling well just before the game against the Kansas City Royals.

Francona, a former World Series champion and Manager of the Year winner, underwent tests at a Kansas City hospital.

Bench coach DeMarlo Hale was the manager for the Guardians in the game, one they ended up winning, 2-1.

Bell sent a brief update of the situation on Tuesday night, but there weren’t many details available.

“A little update now: Tito will be held overnight at the hospital for observation. We won’t know any more until tomorrow,” she tweeted.

It’s important to point out that Francona has had a few health-related situations in recent years, and some of them have even affected his in-season availability.

In 2020, he missed time with gastrointestinal problems and blood clots.

The following year, he underwent surgeries to his hip and toe.

The entire baseball universe is paying attention to the Francona situation, as he is a well-liked and respected figure around the game.

He led the Guardians to an unlikely appearance in the American League Division Series last year after a phenomenal regular season.

This year, his Guards haven’t looked as sharp with a 38-40 record, but they are just half a game behind the Minnesota Twins in the standings.

As their spiritual and dugout leader, the Guardians need Francona healthy to conquer their season objectives.

Hopefully that’s the case and this is just a scare.
