The Cleveland Guardians will begin the 2024 season honoring a Cleveland icon.
John Adams was a huge fan of the team and played a bass drum in the bleacher seats in Cleveland from 1973-2019.
Adams appeared at almost every Guardians home game in that time span.
Sadly, Adams passed away on January 30 this year, but that won’t stop the Guardians and Cleveland fans from remembering his greatness and the smiles brought every night.
In fact, the Guardians will be naming the bleachers after Adams on Opening Day next year.
The famous drummer always sat in the bleachers and banged his drum to root on the Guardians.
On Twitter, the Guardians announced the news.
We are proud to announce that the Progressive Field bleachers will be named after Johns Adams starting Opening Day 2024.
John’s drum will also be sent to Cooperstown where it will be displayed for the foreseeable future.

In addition to the bleachers being named after Adams, the Cleveland superfan’s bass drum will be sent to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
In the message, the Guardians expressed their gratitude towards Adams and that they miss him terribly.
But Adams won’t be forgotten in Cleveland, and his fascination with the Guardians won’t either, as the drum will be on display in Cooperstown in the near future.
The Guardians never won a World Series while Adams was in the bleachers playing his drum, but they had some solid teams over the years, such as the 1995 and 1997 teams that reached the World Series.
He was also around for the 2007 team that made a run to the ALCS and the 2016 pennant-winning club.
Cleveland fans will remember Adams fondly, and now he’ll have a section at Progressive Field named after him.
