The Atlanta Hawks are weighing all of their options before the upcoming NBA draft.
Holding the top pick in the draft is a great thing, of course, but it comes with a lot of hard work and responsibility, especially for a team like the Hawks that doesn’t want to mess up this opportunity.
According to Kevin O’Connor, per Evan Sidery, the Hawks are going to conduct a private workout with Donovan Clingan.
The team is reportedly “showing interest” in potentially selecting him in the draft.
In fact, they are “open to the idea of trading down a few spots to secure Clingan.”

It’s important to note that the “process is still ongoing” which means that Atlanta’s plans may change.
They might be interested in Clingan right now but they could change their mind for a number of reasons.
No one can blame Atlanta for being drawn to the big man.
At seven-foot-two and 280 pounds, Clingan would add a lot of power and strength to the Hawks.
He is also a versatile big man so he could be an important two-way player for the Hawks.
Of course, Atlanta has its fair share of options, including choosing Alex Sarr or Zaccharie Risacher in the number one spot.
With just a few weeks to go, the lineup in this draft is looking very fluid and many things could change between now and then.
The Hawks have to decide what path they want to take.
Do they want another guard or wing player or would they rather secure another powerful big man they can help develop over the next few years?
Before they can make their choice in the draft, they have to know their own goals.
