After a disappointing 2023-24 season, the Atlanta Hawks made a major change this offseason when they traded former All-Star Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans for four players and two first-round draft picks.
There are rumors Atlanta also could end up trading Trae Young, a three-time All-Star, not too long from now as well.
Another player will be staying with the Hawks, as ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Vit Krejci has agreed to a four-year contract worth $10 million to return to the team.

Krejci, a 6-foot-8, 195-pound 24-year-old, made his NBA debut with the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2021-22 season. That season, he averaged 6.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game playing 23.0 minutes per contest.
He has spent the past two seasons with the Hawks, with a short stint in the G League as a member of the Iowa Wolves as well.
Atlanta made an unexpected trip to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021, as well as one in 2015, but other than that, the Hawks have been an average or mediocre team for most of the past 50 years or so.
While Young is a star, he isn’t seen by many as a true franchise player or someone who can carry a team to a championship. At some point, Atlanta will need to decide whether it wants to stick with him or trade him to acquire some assets and start over.
With the East getting a lot stronger, perhaps now is the best time for the Hawks to rebuild.
