The Atlanta Hawks have experienced some changes this summer, notably the loss of Dejounte Murray, who traveled down to the New Orleans Pelicans.
After a disappointing season, the team’s front office is looking to make more adjustments to bring them as much success as possible in 2024-25.
According to Shams Charania, the Hawks are now waiving center Bruno Fernando.
Last season, Fernando scored an average of 6.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1 assist per game on 58.3% from the field.

He played in 45 games last season, which means the Hawks didn’t rely on Fernando too often and feel comfortable letting him go.
The 25-year-old big man will now have a chance to sign with a different team and perhaps find more time on the court with a new franchise.
As for the Hawks, they will continue to lay the groundwork for a strong season.
They ended 2023-24 as the tenth team in the East with a 36-46 record.
There are many questions about the team and what they will do now.
They have already lost Murray and there is still speculation about Trae Young and others leaving the team.
They might not be shipped away this summer, but there is a good chance that the front office will shake things up in a big way during the regular season if things don’t get much better.
Fernando wasn’t a massive part of the team so his loss won’t be felt too much.
But this could be a sign of things to come in Atlanta.
Is Fernando’s departure part of a bigger, more shocking plan that the Hawks are putting together?
