The Atlanta Hawks are currently battling the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA playoffs after getting the best of the Miami Heat in the Play-in Tournament.
Although the Hawks were able to make easy work of the Heat, the team has struggled against the defending Eastern Conference champions, with the team now facing a 0-2 deficit heading back to Atlanta for Game 3.
As if things weren’t bad enough for superstar guard Trae Young with his team struggling in the playoffs and constant trade rumors swirling in Atlanta, the 24-year-old got some bad news this week, learning that his grandfather had passed away via NBA Buzz.
Our condolences are with Trae Young & his family after he announced the passing of his grandfather on Twitter

There’s no doubt that Young has gone through a difficult year where many have questioned whether the Hawks should trade the two-time NBA All-Star, but this makes things even tougher for the Oklahoma University product.
Playing with a heavy heart is no easy task for any professional athlete or anyone working a nine-to-five job every week.
A death in the family can profoundly impact people, and Young is no different as what could be the last two games of the season and could be incredibly tough to get through for the face of the Hawks franchise.
Hopefully, for Young, the talented guard can pull it together and focus on basketball for the time being to help him get through this challenging time, as his team needs him now more than ever, even though he is almost certainly thinking about being with his family.
