Heat Star Shares Picture With Damian Lillard After Bucks Duel

The Miami Heat failed to acquire Damian Lillard in the offseason.

That has become a worrisome trend lately for the Pat Riley regime, as they have failed to trade Kyle Lowry and couldn’t get their hands on Donovan Mitchell, Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and now Lillard.

Needless to say, that was a massive blow for their championship aspirations, especially considering Jimmy Butler had actively recruited Lillard throughout the course of the offseason.

That’s why, following the Milwaukee Bucks’ win over the Heat, Butler may have sent the front office a message by sharing a picture of Lillard guarding him on his Instagram story (Via Legion Hoops).

Truth be told, the Heat’s front office has done a terrible job of surrounding Butler with talent thus far.

Tyler Herro figures to be a very valuable role player with a bright NBA career ahead of him, but he’s not a superstar, and the Heat may have made a mistake by overvaluing him.

Riley has reportedly lowballed multiple teams in his offers for star players, and Beal even openly admitted that he wanted to play for the Heat before he shut the door on him.

The Heat have still found ways to compete at the highest level in the playoffs, but they have no more championships to show for that.

The talent gap between them and other contenders in the Eastern Conference got significantly wider this offseason, and barring a major turn of events, it’s hard to think they’ll make it back to the NBA Finals this season.
