The Miami Heat have been in the market for a star for quite a while.
Nonetheless, Pat Riley has come back home empty-handed way too often lately, so perhaps it’s time to aim a little lower.
With that in mind, a report by Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, via NBACentral, says that the Heat could set their sights on the Charlotte Hornets and make a run at Terry Rozier.
The former Boston Celtic failed to live up to the hype after signing a big deal in North Carolina, but he’s having a career revival this season.
According to the report, his strong play has made him a valuable trade asset around the league, and he would gladly take his talents to South Beach:
“Terry Rozier’s strong play has made the combo guard a more viable trade candidate than ever at his $24 million average annual salary, with a known preference in joining the Miami Heat, league sources told Yahoo Sports,” wrote Fischer, via NBACentral on Twitter.

Even with a lack of stars beyond Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, the Heat continue to overachieve under coach Erik Spoelstra.
Tyler Herro has been efficient and one of the most underrated scorers in the league, and we already know their playoff pedigree and how dangerous they could be in any seven-game series.
Rozier is an explosive source of instant offense off the bench.
He can play on and off the ball, and while he’s never been known for his defensive prowess, the Heat have always excelled at hiding their players’ defensive flaws.
Needless to say, matching his salary could be a bit of an issue, but with the Heat knocking on the door of championship contention so often lately, that would be a risk worth taking for Pat Riley.
