After a somewhat mediocre NBA regular season, the Los Angeles Lakers had to make their way into the NBA playoffs through the Play-In Tournament once again, which only set them up for failure by facing the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets in the first round of the postseason.

Ultimately, as expected, the Lakers were knocked out of the playoffs, with the Nuggets making easy work of LeBron James and company in five games, setting up an uncertain future this summer.

Not long after the Lakers were eliminated from the postseason, the team parted ways with head coach Darvin Ham after two seasons with the team, making this offseason that much more difficult for the storied franchise.

With the Lakers clearly a step or two behind the elite teams in the Western Conference and needing a new head coach, rap mogul and BIG3 owner Ice Cube was asked what the team should do this offseason to right the ship, via “The Big Podcast with Shaq.”

“I mean, we needed a big man. I mean, a true big man. AD can only do so much,” he said.

Although Cube didn’t have an answer for the team’s dilemma at head coach while trying to find Ham’s successor as leader on the sideline, he believes the Lakers need to bring in a true center this summer.

This seems to be the consensus among Lakers fans that the team potentially needs a third star to play alongside Anthony Davis and LeBron James while also bringing in a legitimate big man to help shoulder the load in the paint.

Fortunately for Los Angeles, some intriguing options might be available in NBA free agency, such as Nic Claxton, Andre Drummond, Isaiah Hartenstein, Kevin Love, and Jonas Valanciunas.
