With things starting to settle down in terms of player movement around the league and NBA free agency, the Los Angeles Lakers have seemingly earned more praise than any other team this summer, with Rob Pelinka and the team’s front office making all the right moves in preparation for the 2023-24 NBA season.
The consensus right now seems to be that the Lakers have won the offseason up to this point, as the team brought back three essential role players in Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, and Rui Hachimura while adding depth with Gabe Vincent, Jaxson Hayes, Taurean Prince, and Cam Reddish.
One of the biggest Lakers fans throughout the team’s history in Los Angeles is none other than rapper and mogul Ice Cube, who is never shy about his thoughts about his favorite basketball team.
Cube expects the 17-time NBA champions to add another banner in the rafters at Crypto.com Arena next year, via First Take.

Although that seems like a bold take considering the competition in the Western Conference, it may not be a crazy prediction, as the team is as talented as they come and not top-heavy with superstars.
Currently, the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets, who could be the team to beat for years to come, and the Phoenix Suns are the two top teams in the West with champion aspirations.
Until next season gets underway and a healthy reloaded Lakers squad can be seen, they’ll be below these two heavyweights and must prove their worth during the 2023-24 campaign.
