For the last few months, conventional wisdom has said the Chicago Bulls would likely say goodbye to Zach LaVine.
But a recent trade may have changed their plans.
According to K.C. Johnson, per NBACentral, the Bulls might keep LaVine because they just added Josh Giddey, formerly of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
“Zach LaVine really fits with Josh Giddey and there is a scenario in which they try and rehab this relationship,” Johnson said.

LaVine has been with the Bulls for years but has a few things working against him.
Firstly, he has experienced tough injuries recently, which raises questions about his long-term future.
Secondly, LaVine has a very big salary and takes up a lot of the Bulls’ cash.
Plus, Chicago has always been on the verge of shaking up their roster and trying to put these last few years behind them.
LaVine could be the gateway for that.
With the right sort of trade, they could get a good return for LaVine and might secure a few important and talented players.
If they do choose to keep LaVine, the Bulls might commit to trading other players.
They already parted ways with Alex Caruso for Giddey and more changes could be on the horizon soon.
One thing is clear: the Bulls may finally make some of the changes that fans have begged for for years.
They might finally be tired of being a middling, mediocre team and could make this summer a very busy and productive one.
Will LaVine and Giddey actually make the sort of partnership the Bulls are hoping for?
Fans might find out in just a few months.
