The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t been as good as they hoped this season.
Besides their run in the inaugural In-Season Tournament, they haven’t been able to click on the defensive end of the floor, and their offense has been inconsistent, to say the least.
Most insiders believe they’re going to be quite aggressive ahead of the trade deadline, just like it happened last season.
Then again, as much as he’s been tied with a move there, Brian Windhorst of ESPN believes that there’s a ‘zero percent chance’ they trade for Zach LaVine (via Trade Deadline and NBA Central).
“I think there’s a zero percent chance of the Lakers trading for Zach Lavine.”

LaVine’s ties to the Lakers are obvious.
He attended UCLA and is represented by Rich Paul and Klutch Sports.
The Chicago Bulls are reportedly shopping LaVine, who hasn’t hidden his desire to start over somewhere else either.
Then again, there have been no takers for the former Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward.
He’s an efficient three-level scorer, but he’s also a major liability on defense and not the best decision-maker, and most of his stats have always come in losing efforts.
But the actual issue with trading for him is the fact that he’s making a lot of money, yet he’s not seen as a legitimate No. 1 option.
The new CBA makes it harder to stash big contracts on the same team, so the Lakers are wise to look somewhere else, as they already have LeBron and Davis taking a major chunk of the salary cap.
