HBO’s highly-touted “Hard Knocks” is well respected for following a particular NFL franchise through its grueling training camp preparations for the NFL season.
It was with great fanfare that the league and HBO recently announced that cameras will follow the Chicago Bears in training camp as they attempt a return to respectability in 2024.
The team is hardly devoid of weapons, and intriguingly sports a shiny new quarterback in number one overall selection Caleb Williams.
Now comes word that “Hard Knocks,” a joint effort between the legendary NFL Films and HBO, is expanding its coverage of the most popular North American professional sports league.
Ari Meirov reported there will be three editions of the program this year: the aforementioned focus on Chicago’s training camp, an offseason edition featuring the New York Giants and an in-season version focused on the AFC North.
There will be three different editions of “Hard Knocks” this year:
1) New York Giants — Offseason edition (free agency, draft).
2) Chicago Bears — Regular training camp version.
3) In-season version — following the entire AFC North (Bengals, Browns, Steelers, and Ravens).… https://t.co/FZCxTIO95a pic.twitter.com/vf0Ssg4C8L

In a time of media saturation with all things NFL, “Hard Knocks” occupies a special place in providing fans with a truly inside view of their favorite sport.
The expansion into the Giants offseason will focus on free agency and the draft, and the successes and failures of the Bengals, Browns, Ravens and Steelers will be laid bare for the HBO audience.
For the first time in NFL history, all four teams in a division finished with a winning record in 2023.
This set the stage for what should be an ultra-competitive AFC North in 2024.
This type of league transparency can only solidify the already powerful fan base by letting them view the inner workings of some of the NFL’s most storied franchises.
