The Minnesota Vikings are aggressively trying to move up in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Unfortunately for them, every single team currently slated to pick in the top three also needs a quarterback.

That limits their option to get into the top five.

And, contrary to some initial reports, it doesn’t seem like the Arizona Cardinals are that willing to trade down.

According to a report by Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Cardinals are making it ‘very difficult’ for the Vikings and all teams interested in getting their No. 4 pick, and they’re firmly expected to use it on WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

However, he believes the Los Angeles Chargers could still be in play as potential trade partners (via The Purple Persuasion).

According to @AlbertBreer, the #Cardinals aren’t “making it easy on teams looking to move up” and his guess is they stay put to draft WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

The Vikings are reportedly keeping tabs on Drake Maye, but with the New England Patriots also looking to get him, the price might be too steep right now.

The Chargers, on the other hand, could benefit from multiple first-round selections to kick off the Jim Harbaugh era, and the Vikings currently have the No. 11 and No. 23 picks.

Should that be the case, the Vikings would most likely target Michigan star J.J. McCarthy, who’s been the quickest and most notorious riser in this year’s pre-draft process.

Whatever the case, it seems like the Vikings have a clear plan, and they don’t intend to see the first round come to an end without getting Kirk Cousins’ replacement.

Whether it’ll be at No. 4 or No. 5, remains to be seen.
