The Philadelphia Eagles are fresh off a heartbreaking trip to the Super Bowl, and they’ll go to great lengths to avoid that hangover at all costs.

So, now that some reports state that star LB Devin White has requested a trade from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you better believe they’ll be in the mix for his services.

Breaking: Bucs LB Devin White has requested a trade, sources told @JennaLaineESPN.

The team doesn’t want to trade him, but he wants to be traded as he is coming up on his fifth-year option, per @AdamSchefter. pic.twitter.com/S8CavFmJJF

With that in mind, SI’s Ed Kracz explained how GM Howie Roseman could work his magic again to try and snatch the All-Pro linebacker.

Kracz remembered how the Eagles traded for A.J. Brown and signed him to a four-year contract extension almost right away, citing that they could look to do the very same with the Super Bowl champion.

The Eagles traded one of their draft picks to land Brown last season, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see him use one of his first-round picks (Nos. 10 and 30) for the same purpose.

Per Kracz, the Eagles could give up the 10th overall pick and a second-round pick for White, as the Bucs currently have the 19th overall selection.

While that would be a steep price to pay for any player, the Eagles have a plethora of draft capital through the upcoming draft, so it’s not like they can’t afford it.

White is just 25 years old and was taken fifth overall in 2019.

He’s entering the final year of his contract, and the team could either work out an extension with him right away or place him under the franchise tag, so let’s keep an eye on Philly in the next couple of weeks.
