The Kansas City Chiefs are the NFL’s reigning Super Bowl champions, and there is every indication that they want to run it back in order to go for a three-peat, which would be the league’s first since the AFL-NFL merger.
However, dealing with the league’s salary cap is always difficult, and one key player they have to retain is cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.
Sneed is about to become a free agent, and Dov Kleiman tweeted that if the Chiefs cannot secure him on a new contract, the Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, and Las Vegas Raiders could swoop in to sign him, per Tony Pauline.
If the #Chiefs are unable to re-sign L’Jarius Sneed the #Cowboys, #Falcons and #Raiders are “teams to watch” this offseason, per @TonyPauline https://t.co/alUeYOj2KQ pic.twitter.com/jG5N08LQtS

Sneed was a fourth-round draft choice in 2020 right after Kansas City won their first world championship of the Patrick Mahomes era, and he has grown into a very solid and reliable defender.
This season, he posted 14 passes defended and two interceptions while also allowing a 51.0 percent completion rating and a 56.2 passer rating when the man he was guarding was targeted.
In the Super Bowl on Sunday, he had three tackles (two solo) and one pass defended.
The Chiefs evolved throughout the season, going from a team that loved to make big-yardage plays downfield to more of a dink-and-dunk team that wins with defense.
Sneed has been a key part of that change, and losing him would sting.
The team must also find a way to keep defensive tackle Chris Jones, a five-time Pro Bowler who was key down the stretch of the Super Bowl.
Jones held out during training camp looking for a lucrative extension before agreeing to a one-year deal, and if the Chiefs lose him, they would be hard-pressed to replace what he has given them over the years.
