With the NBA draft in the history books, teams now look to other areas to improve their lot for the upcoming season.

And Brandon Ingram is expected to be available for trade by the New Orleans Pelicans.

He and his representatives seek a long-term deal as his contract with the club ends after this season, but this may not be forthcoming.

Therefore, trade rumors are intensifying.

NBA expert Jake L. Fischer noted that Ingram is expected to land in one of four league cities: Sacramento, Atlanta, Cleveland or Philadelphia.

Fischer put the Kings at the top of the heap of contenders.

“One team to monitor for Ingram would be Sacramento. The Kings have been weighing paths to acquire various wings, from Kyle Kuzmato [to] Zach Lavine, and Ingram could be another option for Sacramento to explore.”

This is not to say that Ingram is definitely headed out of town.

New Orleans management indicated their desire to keep him with the Pelicans, and Ingram also expressed his interest in remaining in the city.

However, Ingram’s highest potential salary may push New Orleans into the luxury tax, a financial situation the franchise has never faced and may be reluctant to enter.

The eight-year veteran brings a lot to the hardcourt and is coming off a season in which he averaged 20.8 points per game for the Pelicans.

Though this is nearly four points lower than his career-best performance just a year ago, Ingram is a proven commodity who would be a fine addition to any potential suitors looking to improve their lineup.
