The Los Angeles Lakers, once again, entered the offseason with high hopes and expectations.
There was a lot of chatter about their desire to get a third star, with players like Trae Young, Klay Thompson, and James Harden being brought up.
That wasn’t the case, and their chances of landing another star seem slim right now.
Nonetheless, while he doesn’t foresee anything imminent happening, NBA analyst Jake Weinbech put together a list of the eight players that could be linked to the Lakers as potential trade targets.
The Lakers’ list of potential trade targets:
Darius Garland
Bruce Brown
Collin Sexton
Lauri Markkanen
Jerami Grant
Cam Johnson
Dorian Finney-Smith
Wendell Carter Jr.
I don’t foresee anything to be imminent, but watch for these names to become frequently linked to the Lakers.

First, he named Darius Garland, who was rumored to be disgruntled with his role with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Then, he talked about Bruce Brown, a proven championship-caliber role player who could make a strong defensive impact.
Collin Sexton also got the nod, and it makes sense, given the Utah Jazz’s reported desire to tank.
Likewise, Lauri Markkanen could also be a potential target, although the Lakers might not have enough to get him.
The same case could happen with Jerami Grant, who’s making a lot of money with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Weinbach later listed a couple of Brooklyn Nets in Cam Johnson and Dorian Finney-Smith, both of which could gauge plenty of league-wide interest as the trade deadline approaches.
Last, but not least, Weinbach believes they could look to make a run at Orlando Magic big man Wendell Carter Jr.
The Lakers have their work cut out for them, and Rob Pelinka will have to work overtime to get some deals done.
