Bill Belichick was one of the most discussed coaches during the NFL offseason.
He was believed to be in the hot seat in New England after a lackluster 2022 campaign, a trend that has continued into 2023.
With the New England Patriots now holding a 2-8 record, the conversation surrounding Belichick has gotten a bit louder.
Analysts have started to predict potential landing spots for Belichick should he move on from the Patriots.
One such prediction came from reporter Gary Myers, who has been informed by his sources that Belichick might be most interested in the Los Angeles Chargers.
One of my well-placed sources believe the Chargers are the favorites for Bill Belichick in 2024: Excellent QB; team ready to win; Belichick likes California and the beach.
He shot down my theory of Belichick to the Cowboys even though Bill Parcells, who is now one of Belichick’s…

One of the biggest reasons for Belichick to move on to the Chargers is their current quarterback, as Myers mentions.
Belichick’s current QB situation is murky at best.
Mac Jones has not turned into the player the organization has wanted him to be, which has resulted in significant growing pains during his tenure.
With Justin Herbert at the helm of the Chargers, Belichick would have an opportunity to work with one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL.
Plus, as Myers mentioned, the Chargers are a desirable move due to their location.
Belichick is a noted fan of the beach, something he isn’t able to enjoy much in his current role given the climate in the New England era.
He could enjoy all of the beach time he wanted to in LA once his coaching obligations are fulfilled.
While Myers’ comments make this seem like a great situation for Belichick, he would need to leave the Patriots, and Brandon Staley would need to leave his post as head coach of the Chargers.
If current trends continue for both teams, this dream could start to look like a reality.
