Insider Names Potential OC Candidate For Falcons

After interviewing seemingly everyone who was looking for a head coaching job in the NFL, the Atlanta Falcons decided to finally make a decision on who their head coach will be moving forward on Thursday.

Even though the team interviewed big-name candidates like Bill Belichick, Jim Harbaugh and Mike Vrabel, it went in a different direction entirely by surprisingly hiring former Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.

It was a shocking move for the Falcons, to say the least, as it seemed like the team was primed to make a splashy move by bringing in Belichick or one of the other big-name head coaches available.

With Morris now in the fold, the 47-year-old will look to fill out his coaching staff, with James Palmer of NFL Network hinting at Zac Robinson of the Rams as a possibility for the team’s vacancy as offensive coordinator.

After bouncing around the league as a player for a few years, with stops that included the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, and Cincinnati Bengals, Robinson tried his luck at coaching by joining Sean McVay’s coaching staff in Los Angeles in 2019.

Robinson has been either an assistant quarterbacks or wide receivers coach since joining McVay’s staff, but may now get the chance for a significant role in Atlanta if Morris wants to bring him along with him.

It’ll be interesting to see what direction Morris and the Falcons brass take to fill out the coaching staff and what moves this team may make in the offseason to help right the ship in Atlanta.
