The Philadelphia 76ers were finally able to move on from the James Harden saga earlier this week, with the team making a blockbuster trade with the Los Angeles Clippers.
In the aftermath of the trade to send Harden to his hometown Clippers, questions remain about reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid’s future with the franchise and whether he wants to stay with the team that has had limited success in the NBA playoffs.
Even though Embiid is saying all the right things publicly about his mindset and the franchise, rumors have been floating around that he wants to play for the New York Knicks.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the 76ers franchise is determined to convince Embiid that Philadelphia is where he needs to be for him to win that elusive NBA championship, as they will do everything within their power to make him happy and content via NBA on ESPN.

Although the 76ers are clearly all-in on Embiid and they should be after how he played last year and how he’s played thus far this year, the writing might be on the wall in Philadelphia.
All it will take is the 76ers dealing with some more internal drama or another early exit in the playoffs for Embiid to change his mind and demand a trade the way Harden did after promises were not kept by Daryl Morey.
It will be an interesting 2023-24 NBA season for the 76ers, as Embiid’s future might very well be determined by how well the team does and if they can take a step closer to winning it all.
