The Minnesota Timberwolves have historically been one of the worst teams in NBA history.
So much so that the Timberwolves have made just 11 playoff appearances in their 35 years of existence in the league.
Well, it may have taken long for the organization to become good, but they are finally one of the top teams in the league in the 2023-24 NBA season.
It’s evident from the fact that the Timberwolves are currently the number one seed in the Western Conference with a 14-4 record.
Speaking of which, NBA reporter Jon Krawczynski recently pointed out via his official Twitter handle that the Timberwolves have created franchise history after being the No. 1 seed in the West for 10 days.
In their previous 34 years of existence, the Timberwolves spent a grand total of 10 days as the outright No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
After beating Utah, the Wolves have been the outright No. 1 for 10 days THIS SEASON.*

As mentioned in the tweet, in the last 34 seasons, the Timberwolves managed to be in the number one spot in the West for a grand total of just 10 days.
On the other hand, during the 2023-24 NBA season, the Timberwolves have already matched that record following the team’s most recent 101-90 victory over the Utah Jazz.
Throughout the season, Anthony Edwards has been the star for the Timberwolves as the former first-overall pick has averaged 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game in 17 appearances for the team.
However, in Edwards’ first absence from the team this season, Karl-Anthony Towns filled his shoes.
Towns ended up putting 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists for the Timberwolves in their recent win.
With the Timberwolves playing like one of the best teams in the league right now, is this finally the year when the franchise makes a deep playoff run?
