It’s been a war of a series between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers who are now facing a Game 7 to determine who will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Knicks had an opportunity to close out the series in Game 6 on the road, but the Pacers managed to hold on after a flurry in the second quarter that gave them the lead for the rest of the evening.

Indiana has shown some real toughness in this series, while New York has remained gritty and physical despite all the injuries the roster has suffered.

Josh Hart was forced out of the game in the first quarter after suffering an abdominal injury, while Jalen Brunson continues to play through a foot injury he suffered earlier in the series.

Meanwhile, the Pacers have had to learn how to adjust and play at a slower style after spending the entire year upping the tempo and hunting shots in transition.

The schedule of the series has not been kind to either team and unfortunately they won’t have much rest between Game 6 and Game 7, via Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.

“Wolves and Nuggets played YESTERDAY and get the later game slot on Sunday. The Pacers and Knicks, who played tonight, play in 40 hours,” Azarly reported.

It seems unfair that the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves will get extra time to recuperate, while the Knicks and Pacers are back at it in less than two days.

This sort of scheduling mishap should be reviewed in the offseason, but for now New York and Indiana will just have to deal with it.
