The 2023 NFL season has been monumental for Travis Kelce.
Not only is he dating one of the most famous women in the world, which continues to be a highlight in the sports world, but his on-field performances have also been something to admire.
Kelce has remained the Kansas City Chiefs’ top target, the No. 1 option for opposing teams to try and defend against.
He is also on the cusp of league history, as Chiefs reporter Matt McMullen has recently highlighted.
Kelce is 104 yards short of a 1,000-yard season, which would be his eighth-straight year of accomplishing this feat.
Travis Kelce is also just 104 yards shy of an eighth-straight (!!) 1,000-yard season, something only six other players in NFL history have ever achieved.

McMullen also pointed out that he would only be the seventh player in NFL history to achieve this benchmark.
While Kelce is well on his way to history, he also has a lot of work ahead of him.
With teams knowing that he is the Chiefs’ top target and that they don’t have an alpha receiver, Kelce’s opportunity to put together big games is getting more complicated weekly.
Kelce still has two games this year in which he has logged over 100 yards and three other games with 80+ yards.
Patrick Mahomes figures out ways to get him the ball, but the Chiefs need to clean up their receiving room moving forward, especially if they want to make another deep playoff run.
Skyy Moore hasn’t been who the team was hoping for, and while Rashee Rice has shown flashes, he hasn’t stepped up in a primary role.
Fans will be interested to see how the rest of the season shakes out for the reigning NFL champs.
