While the 2024 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday was considered boring and even an embarrassment by many people, the events at All-Star Saturday were at least mildly entertaining.

The 3-point contest provided some solid competition, and right after it, fans in attendance in Indianapolis and at home were treated to a special 3-point competition between Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu, a star with the WNBA’s New York Liberty.

Curry edged out Ionescu by just three points, and according to Shams Charania, the potential is there for a special two-on-two showdown at next year’s All-Star Game, which will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area, per The Rally.

“They both kind of teased the idea of having a 2v2 matchup with Sabrina Ionescu and Caitlin Clark and then maybe Steph Curry and another coworker of his.”

Charania said there could be a competition where Caitlin Clark, the University of Iowa star who just became the leading career scorer in NCAA women’s basketball history, and another NBA star could join Curry and Ionescu.

Curry, of course, is considered by most to be the greatest outside shooter in basketball history, not just due to his marksmanship but also due to his range, ultra-quick release, and textbook form no matter how quickly he shoots.

Of course, he has won four NBA championships, and he has also become a big-time threat in the clutch.

Curry is now considered arguably one of the 10 greatest NBA players ever, and when one gets to that point, he must find new challenges that are outside the box.

With the Warriors’ dynasty almost dead, a Curry-centric competition at All-Star Weekend could get him excited each year.
