Insider Provides Encouraging Update On Giannis Antetokounmpo

On Sunday night, the worst fears of all Milwaukee Bucks fans seemed realized when Giannis Antetokounmpo left Game 1 of the playoffs due to a back injury he suffered.

The Bucks ended up losing that game to the Miami Heat and there were many wondering if Antetokounmpo’s injury may have changed his team’s trajectory and, therefore, the whole outcome of the postseason.

On Monday morning, fans were eager to hear any news about Antetokounmpo.

Speaking on FanDuel TV, Shams Charania gave those fans a reason to breathe a bit easier.

Charania said that there is optimism Antetokounmpo will return to his team for Game 2.

He said that the injury is now a pain tolerance issue, meaning Antetokounmpo should be able to play through whatever discomfort he has.

While the idea of Antetokounmpo coming back and evening the series score on Wednesday is tantalizing, there is still plenty of reason to be concerned.

Charania said that the lower back problem for Antetokounmpo could persist throughout the remainder of the playoffs.

He might be playing but he will likely be aching.

That could obviously affect his output.

Charania also stated that this latest injury is paired with another Antetokounmpo is pushing through.

After a long, hard-fought season, Antetokounmpo is clearly banged up and in pain.

He is known as one of the most driven and determined players in the league so if he’s able to play, even while in pain, he will.

That will keep the Bucks’ Finals hopes alive.

But are we about to see an impaired Antetokounmpo struggle through the playoffs?
