The Golden State Warriors have been tight-lipped with their plans for Chris Paul.
They had him both as a starter and coming off the bench in the preseason, and Steve Kerr had talked about him having six starters on his team.
However, Shams Charania of The Athletic recently reported that there’s some “momentum” about Paul finally coming off the bench for the Dubs (via NBACentral).
Chris Paul could come off the bench for the Golden State Warriors, per @ShamsCharania

That’s the most logical thing to do from every single standpoint one might want to consider.
Even without Draymond Green in the lineup, they would fare better with Kevon Looney next to Jonathan Kuminga or Dario Saric.
Paul isn’t getting any younger, and he’s struggled to finish seasons, especially in the playoffs.
He needs to take his minutes down a notch to make sure to stay fresh for when it matters the most.
On top of that, the Warriors already have a point guard, who also happens to be one of the greatest to ever do it, and having Paul in the starting lineup forces Klay Thompson to move to the three and Andrew Wiggins to be their power forward.
On the flip side, having Paul leading the second unit could do wonders for them, especially considering how much their bench struggled last season.
Paul is one of the best players of all time, but he’s entering the downside of his prime, and he needs the Warriors more than they need him at this point in his career.
So, it’s time to put the ego aside and come off the bench for his own sake.
