Recent rumors have said that the Philadelphia 76ers will attempt to sign Paul George this summer if the Los Angeles Clippers star doesn’t create a new deal with his current team.
The Sixers definitely have their eyes set on George and he could be a huge asset to the team.
But what happens if the pursuit of George falls through?
According to Kevin O’Connor, via Evan Sidery, the Sixers’ “Plan B” option is to try and sign Brandon Ingram, currently of the New Orleans Pelicans.
“Philadelphia can propose a trade offer to the Pelicans centered around draft picks in exchange for Ingram’s expiring contract,” Sidery wrote.

This is a deal that makes a lot of sense for both the 76ers and the Pelicans.
It has become an accepted reality that Ingram and Zion Williamson probably won’t be playing on the same team for much longer.
The Pelicans need to make a choice between the two stars and insiders have reported that they are going to stick with Williamson.
Therefore, they will likely hear multiple options for Ingram’s expiring contract this summer and will just have to decide which path they want to take.
Ingram averaged 20.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists during the 2023-24 season.
Over the last few years, he’s become a reliable star for the Pelicans, especially with the multiple lengthy absences of Williamson.
But his time with the Pelicans is coming to an end and now it’s time for him to start the next chapter of his career.
Will he do that in Philadelphia?
The 76ers are going to try to get George and if they don’t, they will angle for Ingram.
Which star will make their way to Philadelphia next season?
