After taking talented scorer Dalton Knecht out of the University of Tennessee with the No. 17 overall pick, the consensus seems to be that the Los Angeles Lakers may have landed the steal of the 2024 NBA Draft.
With the Lakers bringing a potential game-changer in Knecht, the attention turns to the storied franchise’s second-round draft pick, which comes in at No. 55 overall.
Over the past few months, there’s been much speculation surrounding LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, and whether the Lakers will draft him at their superstar’s request.
Although LeBron James and Klutch Sports superagent Rich Paul have done everything they can to dispel all the rumors surrounding Bronny James, the consensus seems to be that they will take him at No. 55, which is perfectly fine if you ask superstar Anthony Davis, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN via NBA on ESPN.
“I wouldn’t be mad at the team if we took him if he was still available at [No.] 55,” Davis said.

With the Lakers said to be going all-in on building around Davis for the foreseeable future, the veteran big man’s say in this draft pick was bound to be a topic of discussion.
Although Bronny James isn’t considered to be a player that will play a minute on the NBA level next season, as he’ll likely spend the majority of his time in the G League, it is a risk taking him in the second round and might not be the best look for the other players in the locker room in Los Angeles.
