The Los Angeles Clippers could be sensing that the 2023-24 NBA season might be their last chance to win a title with their current roster as they made another splashy move.
After months of rumors, the Clippers finally stepped up their offer to the Philadelphia 76ers to acquire James Harden.
Los Angeles shipped out Nicolas Batum, Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, KJ Martin, and several draft assets to Philadelphia in exchange for Harden.
The star guard got his wish as he preferred to land with the Clippers and is reportedly set to make his debut when the team takes on the New York Knicks on Monday.
With Harden now on board, though, there is a question as to how the ball-handling duties will be split up amongst all the stars.
It looks like head coach Tyronn Lue will keep things simple as Russell Westbrook is expected to remain in his role as the lead guard via Adam Zagoria of the New York Times.
Russell Westbrook is expected to run the point in the Clippers’ offense with James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George.

Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Westbrook have taken turns dominating the basketball on offensive possessions, so Harden’s fit looks questionable on paper.
However, allowing Westbrook to remain as the point guard makes the most sense as he’s the weakest outside shooter among the four and is at his best when the basketball is in his hands.
Harden should still see his fair share of opportunities to run the offense, especially because he’s the most natural threat as a shooter and passer.
It’ll be interesting to see how the star-studded group meshes in their first few games.
