The Cleveland Cavaliers’ season ended a lot sooner than many people expected.
Despite ending the regular season on a high note and winning an emotionally charged series against the Orlando Magic, the Cavaliers lost in five games in their next series to the Boston Celtics.
With this in mind, many fans and analysts have tried to predict what’s next for this team.
There have been rumors that either Darius Garland or Donovan Mitchell will be out the door in the offseason, as it seems like the team won’t keep both players.
While this could be the case, if Mitchell’s recent comments are any indication, it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere in the near future.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski via NBA Central on Twitter, Mitchell told him “I am happy in Cleveland.”

Mitchell has become a beloved figure within the fanbase during his time with the Cavaliers.
Although the team hasn’t necessarily achieved the heights that many anticipated, Mitchell still seems to be a fan favorite.
If he sticks around, the organization could continue to grow this team around him, hoping they can gain more traction with each passing season.
The Eastern Conference is seemingly wide open after the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks.
With the right pieces in the 2024-2025 season, the Cavaliers have a genuine opportunity to throw their hat in the ring again as a contender.
The real question will be if the front office decides to move on from Garland, or if they’ll try to keep this dynamic duo for the foreseeable future.
