Kevin Durant is undoubtedly one of the greatest players in NBA history.
However, given the way he’s dealt with his career, some fans continue to put asterisks next to some of his accomplishments, and they don’t seem to respect him as much as they respect other superstars.
Moving to the Golden State Warriors made him a villain, but the way he responded to the fans only made things worse.
And with the Brooklyn Nets fiasco and how he failed to lead the team to the top, that didn’t do many favors to the narrative.
That’s why leaving another team to pursue a championship somewhere else would only hamper his legacy even more.
He’s been tied to a move to the Houston Rockets, as they now have the assets to pull off a big move for him.
However, according to ESPN insider Brian Windhorst, Durant hasn’t requested to be traded, at least to his knowledge (Via GoJo and Golic).
“Kevin Durant has not asked for a trade… There are definite connections between Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets.” – Brian Windhorst

Windhorst explained that there are clear ties between Durant and the Rockets, most likely referring to his close relationship with coach Ime Udoka.
The Durant criticism has often been unfair and uncalled for, and we shouldn’t doubt the greatness of one of the best players this game has ever seen.
Then again, that’s just what players of his caliber have to deal with.
With great power comes great responsibility.
Durant could turn the Rockets into a championship contender overnight, and it’ll be interesting to see whether they’re able to pull something off.
