The Philadelphia 76ers have spent the offseason without one of their star players.

James Harden has been away from the team for several weeks as he tries to force a trade out of town.

This has left his teammates wondering when he will return, and if he will be ready for the upcoming regular season.

A recent update from Adrian Wojnarowski indicates that Harden does not have a definitive timetable to return.

It is increasingly unclear whether Harden will be available to play in the Sixers opener vs. Milwaukee on Thursday, sources said. https://t.co/oRzkRhwxFL

As Wojnarowski pointed out, Harden’s status for the 76ers’ upcoming matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks is in jeopardy.

With three days left until the season opener, and Harden is still not with the team, it doesn’t look like he will be available.

Who does this leave the 76ers with?

The 76ers are anchored by Joel Embiid, the reigning league MVP.

He has carried the 76ers to a significant amount of victories over the past several years and will look to make a similar impact this season.

While Embiid has been dominant, he can’t do it alone.

Tobias Harris will be in line for a bigger role while Harden remains away from the team.

He will likely be called upon for more scoring as the 76ers look to replace Harden’s output in that regard.

Tyrese Maxey is also a fantastic young player who has started to make a name for himself in the NBA.

With Harden out for the foreseeable future, this is an opportunity for him to continue to establish his role on the 76ers, hoping to get a max contract in the coming years.
