The Sacramento Kings just acquired DeMar DeRozan from the Chicago Bulls, which was a move that could change the team for the better in the new season.

But they aren’t done yet, according to James Ham, per Evan Sidery.

It is being reported that the Kings “remain active in trade talks” and are “looking for one more impact player to put them over the top.”

Reportedly, their top targets are Lauri Markkanen of the Utah Jazz and Kyle Kuzma of the Washington Wizards.

Markkanen and Kuzma are crucial players to their teams, although both of their squads are supremely lacking and reportedly curious to see potential deals from other front offices.

With that being said, the Kings would probably have to give up a lot in order to get either of these stars.

That is especially true for Markkanen because the Jazz have a tough, experienced front office that likes to play hardball during trades.

These two could truly help the Kings reach their next level and return to the playoffs, but would the Kings be willing to give up what the Jazz or Wizards demand?

They still have one of the most exciting young cores in the league and if they want Markkanen or Kuzma, they may have to sacrifice a few of them.

That could ultimately hurt the King in the long run.

The Kings have been busy over the last few days but it sounds like they are still working hard to commit more trades and changes.

Sacramento fans should prepare for a very different team in 2024-25.
