Bronny James had a good Summer League game on Wednesday night, scoring 12 points and finally landing some three-pointers.

But that doesn’t deny the fact that his recent output has been rough and disappointing to many.

But the Los Angeles Lakers aren’t worried, according to Jovan Buha.

Writing for The Athletic, he said, “The Lakers, both publicly and privately, maintain that they will be patient with his development, no matter how loud the external noise gets.”

All eyes have been on Bronny James throughout the NBA Summer League.

And though he was always unlikely to contribute as a rookie, he’s underperformed by even modest expectations.

James has received a ton of attention since joining the Lakers and most of it has been fairly critical.

Many people have said that he shouldn’t have been drafted in the first place and he’ll never earn a spot on the floor during the regular season.

Others have pushed back and said that James is receiving the sort of criticism that a top-ten pick gets.

But James isn’t a top-ten draft pick and was selected as No. 55 in the draft.

However, he is being held to an incredibly high standard, according to some.

The number of headlines and reports revolving around James are usually reserved for someone who is a top-three draft selection.

This isn’t that surprising because of James’ father and the amount of press and endorsements he got even before he submitted his name into the draft.

There is a lot of “external noise” around James but the Lakers aren’t paying attention to it.

Inside reports have said they consider James a long-term investment and a player who can develop over the years.

They know that he can and will only get better and they’re not afraid.
