The New York Knicks are on the type of postseason run they haven’t enjoyed in about two decades, and the Tri-state area is full of excitement as a result.

They took a 2-0 series lead over the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference semifinals on Wednesday behind Jalen Brunson, who overcame a foot injury to return and help New York erase a double-digit deficit.

But the road ahead for New York may be rocky, as yet another of their key players got hurt on Wednesday.

Wing OG Anunoby suffered a strained left hamstring and won’t play in Game 3 in Indianapolis, per Shams Charania.

Anunoby has been a key in the Knicks’ revival this year ever since he was acquired in a midseason trade from the Toronto Raptors.

He scored 28 points in just 28 minutes in Game 2 before being forced to exit with his hurt hamstring.

His defense is considered a very important component of what the Knicks do, especially since they win with defense, and he will be sorely missed.

They have already been without All-Star power forward Julius Randle, who has been out since midseason with a shoulder injury, and center Mitchell Robinson, who suffered a stress injury to his left ankle prior to Game 2.

As a result, New York’s rotation will be greatly shortened, and that will be costly against a Pacers team that plays fast-break basketball as well as any team still standing right now in the playoffs.

One has to hope Anunoby will be able to return soon, as this Knicks-Pacers matchup has been riveting thus far and one hates to see so many key players get injured during the playoffs.
