Star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers have been the talk of the town this offseason.

However, they have not been able to agree on any sort of deal when it comes to contract talks.

The 1,000-yard wide receiver is looking to break the bank, but San Francisco may not feel the same way.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter recently joined The Pat McAfee Show to give the latest update on the situation out in the Bay Area.

“The 49ers have wanted Brandon Aiyuk back and they’ve intended to bring him back, but the wide receiver market has shifted which makes it tough. It’s harder to do a deal now than it was a couple of months ago,” Schefter said.

Aiyuk is San Francisco’s best true wide receiver.

Deebo Samuel is a great player, but he is so versatile that he can play multiple positions.

Aiyuk led the team in receiving this year (1,342) and proved himself to be a core piece of this squad.

Time will certainly tell on which side folds when it comes to these contract talks.

If the 49ers decide that Aiyuk isn’t worth what he is asking for, they can trade him with Ricky Pearsall possibly coming in to take his place.

It is still arguably the most fascinating contract negotiation going on right now.
