Just a few days ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers scored a major win over the Boston Celtics and seemed to take control of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

But then the Celtics bounced back in a huge way and now hold a 2-1 lead.

To make matters worse, there are concerns about Donovan Mitchell, who is now questionable for Monday’s Game 4 because of a left calf strain.

On ESPN Cleveland, Nick Paulus reported that Mitchell was not at shootaround on Monday morning, a clear sign that his calf is truly bothering him.

It goes without saying that the loss of Mitchell would be devastating for the Cavaliers.

He has been a crucial part of the team all season, of course, and especially during the playoffs.

He had 33 points during his 43 minutes of Game 3 but appeared to be limping at times, especially during the fourth quarter.

There is hope that Mitchell will push through whatever is bothering him and can suit up for Monday’s game.

If he isn’t capable of playing, that will leave the Cavaliers with a diminished back and frontcourt, because big man Jarrett Allen is still out with his bruised ribs.

Sadly, this has been par for the course for the Cavaliers all year, as they have experienced multiple injuries that have depleted the roster again and again.

However, losing Mitchell right now with Allen already out would be dreadful news for his team.

Game 4 is being held in Cleveland, which means the Cavaliers have better odds of winning.

But those odds would increase even more if Mitchell was on the court.

Mitchell will continue to work on his calf and see if he can play and the Cavaliers are sure to give an anticipated update as soon as they can.
