The NFL Draft is one of the defining evenings for all franchises, especially those with a big need.
That’s the case for the Minnesota Vikings, who are currently under plenty of pressure to trade up into the top five to land a new franchise quarterback.
Their desire to climb up is the worst-kept secret around the league, and with the New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders, and Denver Broncos also reportedly in the mix to move up, this has now officially become a seller’s market.
With that in mind, ESPN insider Field Yates reports that the Vikings would have to give up plenty to fulfill their desire.
Apparently, it would take more than just their two first-round picks to get the deal done, and they might have to include their first-round pick for next year as well to strike a deal (via The Purple Persuasion).
“The cost would be more than just those two picks to get into the top-5, though — it’d probably require Minnesota’s 2025 1st-rounder to be attached to any deal,” Yates said.

Needless to say, that makes it a tough decision to make for GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
It’ll depend on how high they are on the guy they could get, whether it’s Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy.
Maye has been touted as the third-best quarterback in this class for quite a while, but most scouts and analysts agree that he would benefit greatly from sitting out for a year.
McCarthy, on the other hand, seems to be a bit of a wild card, as some think of him as a potential star, while others believe he’s overhyped.
Whatever the case, the Vikings will have to make a decision.
