After getting crushed by the eighth-seeded Miami Heat in the first round of the NBA playoffs last season, the Milwaukee Bucks headed into the NBA offseason with a lot of uncertainty, with Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez heading into NBA free agency.
Fortunately for the Bucks, they were able to retain both veterans and keep their team relatively intact, but that didn’t sit well with superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who made it clear to the organization that he would not be sticking around long-term if he didn’t see the same championship mindset in the locker room.
From that point on, the Bucks were on the clock to make something happen, and clearly, the team didn’t feel confident enough in the team that they had, so they went out and traded for superstar guard Damian Lillard.
This trade sent shockwaves throughout the league as the Bucks became the team to beat once again and seemingly convinced Antetokounmpo that the franchise was serious about competing for another title moving forward.
It appears that the Lillard trade has made such an impact on Antetokounmpo that he has surprisingly agreed to a three-year contract extension ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

It seems as though Antetokounmpo is a happy man in Milwaukee once again, as he likes his prospects of winning a second title in the near future while sharing the floor with Lillard moving forward.
The real question now is whether this superstar duo will actually work and result in these two players lifting the Larry O’Brien Trophy, as the competition in the NBA is as challenging as ever.
