Insider Reveals New Panthers GM

The Carolina Panthers headed into the 2023 NFL season with high hopes of the struggling franchise being able to start to turn things around after years and years of disappointment.

The team got aggressive ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft by deciding to trade for the No. 1 overall pick by acquiring it from the Chicago Bears.

With the draft being deep at the quarterback position, especially at the top, Carolina was able to pick who they believed was the best prospect at that position.

Unfortunately, the team went with Bryce Young out of Alabama rather than Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, which could be a decision that haunts the franchise for many years to come.

Stroud went on to win his division, clinch a playoff berth, and pull off a first-round upset against the Cleveland Browns while Young struggled all season long and led to the team to two wins.

With the franchise wanting to put the 2023 campaign behind them, the team has started the process of trying to right the ship, as the Panthers have hired Dan Morgan to be the team’s new general manager, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The #Panthers are hiring Dan Morgan as their new GM, per me, @JamesPalmerTV, and @TomPelissero. After an exhaustive search, Carolina stays in-house.

This was an internal and unexpected move by the Panthers, as some believed team owner David Tepper might want to make a splashy move at general manager in order to speed up the process.

With Morgan now calling the shots in the front office, it’ll be interesting to see what other moves are made, starting at head coach.
