After playing in six games this season with the Brooklyn Nets, three-time All-Star Ben Simmons was starting to show flashes of his old form.
Unfortunately, Simmons’s injury problems started again, and the veteran has not played since November 6.
Obviously, this has not turned into an ideal situation for the Nets, as they thought they were getting an All-Star in the deal with the 76ers and so far have gotten a player who seems closer to retirement.
However, things could be turning around for Simmons and Brooklyn, with Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reporting that he could return to the basketball floor for the Nets as soon as Monday when the team takes on the Utah Jazz.

With the Nets struggling this season, as the team currently sports a disappointing record of 17-26, the team desperately needs to get Simmons back on the floor, even if the team’s sole aspiration in the second half of the season is to make the Play-In Tournament.
Even though the Nets’ record isn’t something to be proud of at this point in the season, Brooklyn does have some talented young players on the roster and could benefit greatly from a veteran like Simmons getting back on the floor, who is very good at getting the best out of his teammates with his passing ability.
Before going down with the nerve issue that seems to have derailed his season, Simmons was averaging 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game while shooting 52.8% from the floor.
