Sunday’s 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings is one that Las Vegas Raiders are going to want to likely never talk about again since it saw their favorite team fail to put any points on the scoreboard.
But the game wasn’t the only thing the Raiders lost on Sunday.
Las Vegas running back Josh Jacobs was sidelined in the second half of the matchup after injuring his knee, and now it sounds like he might need to miss some time to recover from his new injury.
In response to the running back’s injury, the Raiders are reportedly planning to sign a free-agent running back in the near future, according to CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson (via Josina Anderson on Twitter).
I’m told that the #Raiders aren’t currently* planning to bring in another free agent RB, nor elevate one from the practice squad. RB Josh Jacobs injured his knee vs #MIN.

Against the Vikings on Sunday, Jacobs carried the football 13 times for 34 yards, and he also caught two passes for 16 yards.
Currently, Ameer Abdullah, Zamir White, and Brandon Bolden are the other three running backs that are on the Raiders’ roster.
Second-year running back Sincere McCormick is also on Las Vegas’s practice squad, and the team could promote him to the active roster before their next game if needed.
In terms of free-agent running backs, there isn’t much talent available for the Raiders to choose from at this point in the season, so if they end up adding someone new, that player likely isn’t going to make much of an impact on their offense during the next few weeks.
Las Vegas has a 5-8 record after Sunday’s loss, and their hopes of making the playoffs this season are continuing to vanish.
