Each NFL season there is one thing every team must deal with.

That is injuries.

The injury rate in the NFL is 100% and the teams that best manage that usually have the most success.

One team that is consistently riddled by injuries is the Los Angeles Rams.

Most recently, they saw quarterback Matthew Stafford suffer a thumb injury.

Stafford missed the last game and his timetable for return remains uncertain.

The Rams felt they could use another quarterback in their building so they went out and signed a popular name.

According to Tom Pelissero, the Rams are expected to sign quarterback Carson Wentz.

The #Rams are expected to sign veteran QB Carson Wentz, pending physical, as @AaronWilson_NFL said.

Sean McVay said he expects Matthew Stafford (thumb) to be ready after this week’s bye, meaning Wentz will be the backup and insurance policy.

Wentz is being seen as more of an insurance policy than an actual starter.

But, he could be called upon if Stafford is not ready to go after the bye week.

Wentz was once seen as a top quarterback in football back in 2017.

He was an MVP candidate that saw his season cut short due to an ACL injury.

But, since then he has never been the same.

Wentz has battled numerous injuries and has seemingly lost all of his confidence as a quarterback.

It is still interesting to see Wentz back in the league this late in the season.

But, with what the Rams saw from Brett Rypien this past weekend they knew they needed to make a move.

If Stafford is forced to miss any more time the Rams will be in serious trouble.

You can bet many people would be interested to see Wentz back on the field before the season ends.
