NBA free agency has been going for weeks now but it’s definitely slowed down recently.
Many of the biggest names on the market have signed contracts and are now preparing for the 2024-25 season.
But there are plenty of people still looking to sign a deal and the market remains flush with great talent.
Evan Sidery made a list of the best available players five weeks into free agency.
He listed Isaac Okoro, Markelle Fultz, Lonnie Walker, Cedi Osman, and Talen Horton-Tucker.
Sidery also reminded readers that Dennis Smith, Jr., Oshae Brissett, Doug McDermott, Jae Crowder, Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, and Davis Bertans are also still on the market.
“For the minimum, a lot of names who could still contribute on rosters,” Sidery wrote on Twitter.

Isaac Okoro
Markelle Fultz
Lonnie Walker
Cedi Osman
Talen Horton-Tucker
Dennis Smith Jr.
Oshae Brissett
Doug McDermott
Jae Crowder
Marcus Morris
Robert Covington

He isn’t wrong when he says that many of these players can contribute to NBA rosters, but the future isn’t clear for most of them.
For example, Okoro averaged 9.4 points and 3 rebounds last season while Horton-Tucker put up 10.1 points per game.
All of these players are talented but that doesn’t mean they will receive big deals with teams.
In fact, it’s much more likely that they will get minimum contracts and will likely be bench players when the new season begins.
Of course, some of them won’t receive NBA contracts and will likely sign with teams playing in foreign markets.
This year’s free agency has been a tricky one.
It started with a bang like always but then slowed down quickly and has been really quiet lately.
These players are still hoping to make the best of this offseason but their phones haven’t been ringing off the hook.
