The start of the 2023-24 NBA season is still a couple of months away, with all 30 teams set to get back to work for training camp next month.
As the start of the season gets closer and closer, details for the upcoming season have started to leak out, like which teams will be playing to start the regular season on October 24.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Los Angeles Lakers will be showcased during the first day of the season, with LeBron James and company hitting the road to face Nikola Jokic and the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena.
Along with a rematch of the Western Conference Finals, the new-look Phoenix Suns will also play on the first day of the regular season, with Kevin Durant and his star-studded team to take on the Golden State Warriors in the Bay Area, which will be the first game for Chris Paul against his former team.

The league seems to have gotten it right once again in terms of putting a couple of primetime matchups together for the season opener, with the Lakers looking for some revenge as they watch the Nuggets get their championship rings in the Mile High City and the Suns attempting to put on a show against Paul’s new squad in San Francisco.
It will be an interesting night, to say the least, with several different storylines headed into both games, which should set the tone for the league right out of the gate.
