The Philadelphia Eagles have faced a lot of adversity heading into the 2024 season.
Despite being in the Super Bowl two years ago, the Eagles fell in the first round of the playoffs last year, and have lost a few of their core players.
Jason Kelce is among the most notable on their offensive line, as he was a staple of the team.
Kelce helped the Eagles implement their patented “tush push,” a quarterback sneak play that was effective over 90% of the time.
The Eagles have added a few players to help try and replace the future Hall of Famer, including Mekhi Becton.
Becton was a first-pick by the New York Jets in 2020, but after not playing a snap due to injury in 2022, the team didn’t end up retaining him.
The Eagles got him at a budget, but, as reporter Jeff McLane recently highlighted, Becton suffered an injury at one of the team’s practices over the weekend.
Diagnosis on #Eagles RG Mekhi Becton, who left practice early with an apparent right leg injury, was that it’s nothing serious, per NFL sources.

McLane did report that it’s “nothing serious,” per his sources, so he should be back in action soon.
Any missed time is crucial, especially for an offensive lineman.
As Jalen Hurts and the rest of the offense look to get back on track, the team will want as much time together as possible to mesh as a cohesive unit.
Otherwise, this team might struggle to gain traction at the beginning of the year, and with the NFC continuing to get stronger, teams like the Eagles can’t afford to start the year on the wrong foot.
